WEEKLY SPOTTER FEATURE

10 Questions With EWEN CHANG

(OCT 5th 2020)

Welcome to “10 Questions With”, a weekly segment on APP's website showcasing aviation spotters & enthusiasts based in Singapore. The concept and motivation behind this project is to bring the community together, and to shine a light on all the different spotters here on our sunny island, raising awareness of our hobby in Singapore and to provide a chance for all spotters to be seen both locally & internationally.

Meet Ewen Chang, a Singaporean spotter we've met over the years in the spotting community here in Singapore. Ewen is an accomplished spotter, using both Instagram and Jetphotos as his channels.

1: A quick self intro, name, where are you from, and what do you do?

My name is Ewen and I am from Singapore, I am currently still studying.

2: What sparked your interest in aviation?

When I was a young boy, my parents used to bring me to Changi Beach to watch planes land and my interest grew from there and I haven’t looked back since.

3: NAME YOUR FAVOURITE AIRLINE?

I don’t really have a favourite airline but am a bit biased to Korean Airlines and Asiana.

4: AND YOUR Fave Aircraft type is....?

B767-300(WL) /400ER

5: Best spotting location in your opinion?

For me, Osaka Kansai has one of the best locations out there cause it gives you an almost full view of the whole apron.

6: Window, Middle or Aisle Seat?

Window.

7: Looking back, any tips or advice you would give your younger self?

I would have gotten myself a camera earlier.

8: out Of all your images, which is your fave photo and tell us why?

This is one of my personal favourites as this FedEx B777F rotated very late allowing me to get this perfect angle with the beacons and a nice background.

9 :Must have items in your bag while spotting?

Camera, Portable Charger, Water

10: If there is one thing that sets you apart from the next spotter, what would it be?

Being in the game for quite some time, I have never thought that I’m better than someone else, I accept any feedback that comes my way and I sometimes do try to give my own feedback as well! At the end of the day be it if you have a point and shoot camera or an expensive DSLR, we all go plane spotting because it’s what’s we love.

That's all for this weeks edition of our Spotter Feature. Do head over to Ewen's profile on his Instagram , and stay tuned for next's week interview! Profile photos by Sebastian Ng
